Mine For Treasure

Unearth a 200 million year old mystery!
Thunderegg fossicking is a unique activity for the whole family. You can discover your own hidden treasures from prehistoric volcanic lava in the world’s largest Thunderegg Mine. Admission includes a Souvenir Miner’s Permit and the use of a pick and bucket for collecting your treasures. 

Opening Hours

Monday to Sunday (7 days) 8:30 am to 4:30 pm 


Last entry to mine @ 3 p.m.
Subject to maintenance, safety and weather.

*Open from 11 a.m. on ANZAC Day


Adult - (18+): $24
 Child (5 - 17): $15

Concession - $20 (must present card)
Supervisor - $15 (excl. fossicking equipment)
Under 4 - FREE (excl. fossicking equipment)

Families - $85.50 (2 adults + 3 children) additional children - $7.50 per child 
Groups - $14 per person for groups of 10 or more. One payment only

Note: Online bookings need to be done 24 hours in advance due to payment processing times. Alternatively, purchase your tickets on arrival

Entry Requirements

Fully-enclosed shoes must be worn (crocs are not acceptable).
Children aged 12 and under must be accompanied by a paying adult.
