Canyon Flyer FAQs
Some helpful hints before visiting the Canyon Flyer Zipline Tour
The Canyon Flyer is a guided zipline canopy tour, located in the rainforest surrounding Thunderbird Park on Mt Tamborine, at the corner of Tamborine Mountain Road and Cedar Creek Falls Road, is set to become a 'must do' on any visitor's things to do on the Gold Coast list. The Coast's newest attraction, the zipline crosses a deep gorge or canyon cut through the rainforest by Cedar Creek over hundreds of years. Seven huge zips cover a distance of 1.5 kilometres and give everyone a rush of excitement while capturing unique views of the rainforest and down the valley to the Great Dividing Range. The zipline has been built by Tree Top Challenge but is a separate attraction to the well-known aerial adventure experience also set on the grounds of Thunderbird Park. Unlike the adventure park, there is no challenging activity associated with the zipline. Groups with a maximum of ten people are led through the tour by two guides, who clip visitors on and off the safety cables and ensure guest safety. The guides also point out the features of the rainforest, and of its native inhabitants, such as sugar gliders, koalas, goannas, and the abundant bird life. We don't guarantee you will see them, but if the wildlife is there our guides will help you spot them. There is no height restriction for the Canyon Flyer, but you need to weigh a minimum of 40 kilos or a maximum of 120 kilos. If you suffer from any health condition, such as heart problems where too much excitement might be a problem, please do not attempt the Canyon Flyer. It definitely will be exciting.
