Jingeri, Welcome

We aim to provide an inclusive experience that allows every guest to connect with nature and enjoy the many wonderful offerings of our park. Whether you’re here for adventure, relaxation, or both, we’re committed to making your visit memorable and accessible.

Accommodation

Thunderbird Park offers accessible accommodation with our specially designed Rosella Room, located in the hillside and offering sweeping views of the surrounding eucalypts and Tamborine National Park. The room is just a short distance from the car park, with access via a 10cm step at the front door. However, there is a ramp available at the rear entrance for easy access on request. The bathroom is fully accessible, with no steps or lip, and includes support rails in the shower and toilet for added comfort.

While we don’t yet offer accessible bathroom facilities in our campgrounds, we are working on a new amenities block that will feature accessible bathrooms, as well as family-friendly facilities. Additionally, we are converting three more of our Hillside rooms into accessible options to better serve all of our guests.

Dining

Accessible parking is available near the main entrance, with easy access to the building via a ramp. Inside, there are no steps, and our team is always available to assist with any needs. The layout is open and spacious, leading to both the restaurant and bar area as well as our outdoor kiosk. Additionally, an accessible bathroom is available just past our Art Gallery for your convenience.

Functions & Events

For events and functions, we recommend our Miner’s Lantern or Rafters venues, both located in the main building with accessible bathrooms nearby. The Miner’s Lantern is the most accessible, with wide double doors and proximity to the accessible restroom. The Rafters venue is slightly further, with access via a paved ramp approximately 10 meters long. Please note that other event venues, such as Island Glade, have recently had new ramps installed to improve accessibility.

Thunderbird Park Activities

Thunderbird Park offers a wide range of activities suitable for guests of all abilities. Here are some of the more accessible options, but we encourage you to contact individual activity providers for further details:

Bird Feeding
Join us for daily bird feeding at 2 pm near the Terrace Cafe. This is a fully accessible activity where our staff provide birds with special feed in a sustainable and supportive environment for all guests to enjoy.

Cedar Creek Falls Trail
Just next door, the Cedar Creek Falls Track within Tamborine National Park offers a mix of accessible and more challenging trails. The 500m return Lookout Trail is rated grade 1 and suitable for wheelchair access, with paved concrete and wooden boardwalk paths. The Base Trail, however, is a more strenuous grade 3 trail with steep inclines and is not wheelchair accessible.

Pickleball
Experience the fast-growing sport of Pickleball, suitable for all ages and abilities! While the courts are currently accessed via steps or a grassy incline, we hope to expand pathways soon for easier access to this fun, low-impact sport.

Dig It
Our exciting new Dig It activity lets you take control of an excavator in a hands-on, inclusive experience. It’s perfect for people of all abilities to enjoy a good time, so contact our team to get started!

Mini Golf
Our mini golf course offers a low-impact activity suitable for the whole family. While not wheelchair accessible, it provides a great way for those who prefer gentler activities to enjoy the park. You can easily view the course from the Terrace Cafe and decide if you’d like to participate.
